We Take Action To Make Better Changes

Kiptapkei Environmental CBO was born out of common interest by Kiptapkei people of Africa to protect their totem from getting extinct. Kiptapkei (Chereret) is a totem from Kakipoch clan within Kalenjin community. Grouping Kalenjin communities in these categories gives them a sense of belonging, identity and a connection with their totem. As Kiptapkei people of Africa, we believe in having a connection with our totem (Vervet Monkey) and it give us a sense of belonging and identity and we have a responsibility to protect it.

Join the race to make the world a better place

Imagine a community united in restoring their natural heritage, combating the devastating effects of deforestation and habitat loss , coupled with the triple planetary crisis: CLIMATE change, nature and habitat loss and pollution. The Kiptapkei people of africa have embarked on a remarkable journey of planting to grow 30 million indigenous trees in 5 years ,driven by their deep commitment to preserving biodiversity and ensuring the survival of the vervet monkey, their cherished totem.

With unwavering dedication and sheer determination, they are transforming the degraded riparian lands into thriving ecosystems, one tree at a time, starting at the sources (springs), along the Streams into small rivers leading to bigger rivers from nandi to Lake Victoria, not leaving behind the wetlands. Through their grassroots efforts, they propagate native tree seedlings, nurture them with care, and tirelessly transplant them to designated areas, creating vital habitats for wildlife to thrive.

But they cannot do this alone. They need our support. For just one dollar, you can help sustain this incredible work and make a tangible difference in conserving our environment. Your contribution will enable the Kiptapkei Environmental organisation to continue their vital mission, safeguarding biodiversity, and securing a brighter future for generations to come.

Join us in this noble cause. Together, let's ensure that the vervet monkey and countless other species have a place to call home. Your donation, no matter how small, can make a world of difference. Thank you for your generosity and support.

Love Nature, Save Nature

The intelligent and endearing vervet his trait has caused them to go above and beyond invading human territories. However, this trait has caused them to go above and beyond invading human territories; they are frequently seen digging in trash for food, destroying grain fields, and to some extent, they are traded in as pets putting them at high risk raising which made Kiptapkei concerned seeing their totem suffering. Due to deforestation caused by human beings and climate change, their natural habitats are declining, which puts the vervet monkey and other animal species at serious risk of extinction.
